Morning Ritual: Choosing My Nervous System

My mornings begin at the tea bar.
Not rushed.
Not distracted.
Just me, heat, intention, and care.

I make hot chocolate with cacao sourced from the Dominican Republic.
Real cacao.

Grounding, heart opening, steady. I add my brain powder infused with medicinal mushrooms from a small herbal shop in the DR. This is nourishment, not a trend.

I choose a mug slowly.
Each one has a lid and a strainer.
That is intentional.

When herbs and cacao steep, the steam carries volatile compounds that matter.
Leaving a mug uncovered lets those medicinal properties escape into the air.
A covered mug keeps the medicine where it belongs, in the cup and in my body.

This is why ritual matters.
This is why tools matter.
This is why mornings set the tone.
My kitchen tea bar is not decor.

It is nervous system care.
It is devotion in a cup. It is how I choose how I want to feel before the world enters the room.
